COMPETITORS INFORMATION
CHECK-IN Competitors must check-in at least 30 minutes prior to their tee-time at the on-site SGU Championship Office.
CLUBHOUSE Competitors and their guests may use the clubhouse facilities. The dress code is smart casual. The wearing of jeans, denim trousers, shorts and sleeveless of collarless shirts are not permitted. Shoes worn on the golf course may not be worn in the clubhouse.
CATERING The day will start with a complimentary coffee and a bacon roll, followed by a 2 course lunch and a pint of Belhaven Best. Any food and beverage, out with that provided by Belhaven, will be at competitors own expense.
FORMAT The event is an 18-hole medal team competition with a maximum handicap of 28 and 3/4 allowance given. The teams will consist of two amateurs from each club who have entered the Belhaven Best Scottish Club Handicap Championship. A maximum of 70 teams will participate. The best nett score recorded by any one of the two players in the team at each hole will be added to form an aggregate.
In the event of a tie for leading positions or for the final qualifying place the following countback procedure will be applied:
The lowest nett score for the last 9 holes and if still a tie The lowest nett score for the last 6 holes and if still a tie The lowest nett score for the last 3 holes and if still a tie The lowest nett score for the last 1 hole and if still a tie Sudden death match play on the best nett score on the card, hole by hole from the 1st hole.
TEES Play will be from the white medal tees.
RULES The event will be played under the R&A Rules of Golf and the local rules of the golf club. The SGU reserve the right to amend the local rules for the competition.
TROLLEY’S & YARDAGE BOOKS Trolleys are available for hire and yardage books for purchase from the golf shop (subject to availability). NB. Distance measuring devices are permitted.
QUALIFIERS The leading 10 qualifiers for the grand final will be advertised as soon as possible at the conclusion of play via the SGU website, www.scottishgolf.org The grand final will take place over the Torrance Course, Fairmont Hotel, St Andrews on Friday 28 September 2012.
SCORECARDS Scorecards must be returned to the on-site SGU Championship Office immediately after play.
